Amanda's dad gave me a lift home today from qa. Passed by this bit at the bridge outside Indooroopilly train station...the traffic was slow because there were police cars, the fire brigade (lots of fire engines), crane, and ambulance all on stand at the narrow junction! Interesting to find out the story behind all that on Yahoo front-page news! Hope he's ok.

Emergency services used a crane to lift an obese man from his apartment on a Brisbane bridge.
The Walter Taylor Bridge, between Indooroopilly and Chelmer in Brisbane's west, has two towers that accommodate a number of residents.
One of the residents - a 57-year-old man reported to weigh around 300kg - called for an ambulance on Thursday afternoon.
He is believed to have suffered an asthma attack.
An emergency services spokeswoman said he was successfully lifted out of the apartment by crane at about 6pm (AEST) and taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
The crane was parked at the side of the road to enable traffic to cross the bridge.
