does this happen to anyone else? I mean, when I think of something and it occurs to me that I should blog it, and I think exactly how it'd sound in words etc, but when I eventually get on to blogging it just doesn't want to come out/I've lost the mood.
Anyway...
What I was thinking just then was about darling country Taiwan.........(again?)
Haha. Ever since my mum asked me on the way home from cello lesson a week ago, what I thought of learning to compose, staying in Taipei, extending my musical abilities (while on holidays from being a dental student; which essentially means: yes I personally still would love to be a dentist one day, and no music is probably not going to take over my life). Without guessing you probably know I was esctatic etc. etc. Obviously its just a plan/lightbulb idea that both of us absolutely adore, but she actually called up her old classmates from music school and all that and asked them to keep and eye/ear out for contacts/oppotunities. So exciting!!
Still don't know what the plan is for end of year holidays this year. Parents have booked tickets to Taiwan but that's just a possibility - in no way confirmed.
Anyway, if you've realised Im starting to change style of writing (hopefully its working out fine) because I think I've been writing pretty boringly for the past.....few years (except when Im really cranky? haha, still not entertaining).
That's all for today...rushing off to watch tv with family......haha. You know the Taiwanese entertainment shows we get on satellite tv are really good only on the weekends - all the shows we love.
Tomorrow's Lab poster presentation (you know that interview with A/Prof Jeroen Kroon - Vice Head of Dental School which I blogged about a few months ago?) - yep.

fed up with the bug-infested wardrobe which is mine
ooh yea. Lovely. I realised my wardrobe was infested with tiny little bugs (millions of them) on sunday/monday? Anyway, the cause of this is the unused lavender heat pack stored at the very top left cupboard of my wardrobe, which had these annoying small tiny brown bugs growing out of it (apparently so, since mum's the one who found the cause and got rid of it - i didn't witness it). ANDDDD, ive spent most of my morning cleaning out the wardrobe. I vacummed most of the bugs (i hope) earlier in the week (tuesday i think?) but am left with all my clothes to move out today. Sort of fortunately, the right column of the wardrobe was not infested, so i got my stuff out of there on tuesday. Of the 3 columns, the left was the worst, since the bug infested heat pack lived at the top of it and the bugs thought it made perfect sense to climb through my wardrobe below which contains all my clothes-on-hangers, including huge furry winter coats and other dry-clean/handwash type dresses etc. Which means the job is not as easy as dumping all into the washing machine (which would just ruin them all).
Progress:
I've cleared the entire left section of the wall-lining wardrobe, and hung them out in the sun on the great Australian Invention left behind by the previous owner of this house (i think its an australian invention, tell me if im wrong...). and the other woolies/casual tees i hung them out on the clothes rack. Then I got out my summer shorts from the middle column of the wardrobe and got my salon professional hair dryer out onto the veranda and gave them the 'heat treatment' in the hopes of killing/blowing away the tiny bugs. (They're so small and brown they're camouflaged in darker-coloured clothes, and for ALL clothes I can't possibly see myself going through ALL and looking through ALL pockets, zippers, nooks and crannies to spot and eliminate the PESTS.) [At this point, all potential employee-seekers turn me down since I've proven my innate inability to perform meticulous tasks such that which I have just mentioned. Earth says hello.] Back on topic: I also blowdried the rack of woolies and misc i hung out on the rack.
Then I went back into my room to seek out the next pile of clothes to attack. I (obviously) got lazy and flipped through my summer tops, and after not spotting any formidable bugs and the clothes passing the "face test" (being able to sink my face into the clothes, therefore speaking to the world that there are no bugs (or im just blind to them), and proving that those clothes are wearable.)
and now Im sitting at the dining table typing away because Im TOO LAZY (there, i said it) to get on with the rest of my clothes. And I have to vacuum the house today too. Apparently that's my job - to vacuum every week, do laundry and other sorts of things.
I shall go. might update with a hilariously pathetic picture of half my clothes on the 'great Australian Invention'.

West praises paparazzo
22 May 2009, 03:25 pm
WENN
Kanye West has heaped praise on the talents of a paparazzo who recently snapped Rihanna - just days after pleading not guilty to attacking a photographer earlier this year.
The Stronger hitmaker has made no secret of his distaste for the people who make money on the back of celebrity snaps, recently stating, "Paparazzi give real photographers a bad name."
And West's dislike of snappers went a step further in March, when he was charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft after allegedly lashing out a paparazzo at LAX Airport. He pleaded not guilty to all counts in court last week.
But the rapper seems to be softening his opinion of certain snappers - taking to his blog to congratulate one photographer for a recent shot of Rihanna.
The picture captures the Umbrella singer as she is about to step into an iconic New York yellow cab, with a sunset hanging over the Manhattan skyline in the background.
And West hopes other paparazzos will follow suit and be more creative: "Fresh ass picture!!! Yo why can't all paparazzi photos be this good? Well obviously Because most celebs just aren't Rihanna Lol (laugh out loud)!
"But on the real, this pic is hardcore. Peep the perspective shot of the city in the back. Sometimes the paps overexpose the lens or have the flash too high taking all the emotion out of the moment.
"This moment is captured in time now."

ups and downs of life
i guess im never "really in the mood to blog" yea?
here are some articles...
Michelle Obama drops by Sesame Street (Sunday 10May09)
"It's no surprise that there are some seriously awesome perks to being the wife of the President of the United States. So what has Michelle Obama enjoyed most in her brief tenure as first lady? Her husband's inauguration day? Moving into the White House? Getting a new puppy?
Nope — it's an appearance on Sesame Street.
Speaking to diplomats and staff members at the United Nations, she gushed that she had just filmed a guest appearance the classic kids' show.
"I never thought I'd be on Sesame Street with Elmo and Big Bird and I was thrilled. I'm still thrilled. I'm on a high," she said. "I think it's probably the best thing I've done so far in the White House. But we were there talking about nutrition and healthy eating, and it's just been a thrill."
Making an appearance on the beloved children's program seems to be one of the unofficial duties of a First Lady: Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton and Barbara Bush also dropped by during their respective husbands' time in the White House.
Sesame Street, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in November, airs on ABC2."

A Taiwanese couple who sent their son to Melbourne to receive an Australian education have made the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support system after he was injured in a hit-and-run.
Calvin Hsiung and his wife Jennifer, a theology teacher, say their 17-year-old son Samuel had dreamed of coming to Melbourne to further his education with the aim of becoming a nurse.
Samuel was standing at a bus stop in Dandenong North on Saturday morning when he was hit by a car that mounted the footpath and travelled 250 metres before the driver, described as an Asian woman in her 20s or 30s, stopped to inspect the damage, then drove off.
His father on Monday said doctors had told him Samuel was brain dead.
Samuel's sister, Uriah, 19, is due to arrive in Melbourne on Tuesday at which time the family will turn off the life support.
"Our family is here, and tomorrow his sister will arrive, and we will make a very good decision on behalf of Samuel's life," Mr Hsiung said.
Ms Hsiung said that when she was told of the seriousness of Samuel's injuries by the pastor of his church she knew he would not make it.
"I knew the Lord was taking him home," she told reporters at The Alfred hospital.
Mr Hsiung called on the driver of the car, a black Toyota Corolla, to give herself up to police.
"It's a murder like this," he said.
"I have confidence in the police that we can hunt for the driver in order to maintain a good society."
Ms Hsiung said his son had been in Melbourne for six months and liked the people, the culture, the lifestyle and the food.
"He set a very good example here - in the language school and in the college," Mr Hsiung said.
"He's a very cute boy, very real, very kind-hearted."
Ms Hsiung added that sometimes her son was "very naughty" but a "very good carer who wanted to be a nurse".
She did not regret sending him to Australia, saying he had fulfilled his dream of living in Melbourne and had made many friends.
"We don't think of it as a waste of a life; we think of it as a blessing," she said.
Mr Hsiung said the family would donate Samuel's organs in line with the hospital's policy.
"Then we will take him back to Taiwan," he said.
"Our son fought a good battle but now he is no longer my boy, he is everyone's boy."

update!!
I have time. Or lets say Im setting aside time to post since I've just completed my psychology prac report. I've been pretty fine and dandy lately, not to mention - lazy.
this is going to be a slow process...just set aside time to paint my nails too!
........instead of typing with the pads of my fingers, my polish has more or less dried off! here i go...
I cant even remember what I posted last time!
Dental School/University:
I still have the same 2 subjects, so thats a major contributor to my fine and dandiness and also LAZINESS. Have been falling asleep in lectures and the usual. Usually due to the dim lighting suited to powerpoint presentations.
I have this break from 1-4pm in between my two anatomy lectures on wednesdays. I go to the Griffith Christian Students (GCS) group from 1-2 - they have their main meeting then. I started going to a workshop "How to spread the Gospel" from 2-3 two weeks ago. Been learning new things from that. I dont know why it never occurred to me to use '2 ways to live' to share the gospel. must be my old age. Then 3-4pm I meet up with Rachel from GCS and read Ecclesiastes with her. I suggested doing that book because I remember doing it in Sunday school at one point when I was a primary school kid, but I don't remember what it's about etc. I sincerely hope I don't get too old too soon!
Talking about that, I stopped going to church bible study on wednesday nights. Up side is that I am a lot less stressed and tired from wednesdays. and we've also been looking around and in our suburb for a church more suitable to our family.
Entertainment:
Watching lots of tv over the weekend. I decided to pick up the taiwanese drama I had been watching before my exams last term. Finished it on Sunday night. Im more or less satisfied with the ending, but I thought the first few episodes were still the best. Aren't they all like that? Its always the first few that are the best. Its 爱就在一起/ToGetHer. The most recent drama broadcasting on TV. Just that because of the 2hr time difference, the broadcast time of 10pm-11.30pm is 12am-1.30am monday morning here. Too late to be watching tv, my parents would flip. I've been catching it on youtube, and managed to catch parts of the final episode on the recast time on sunday evening. The one that started after this is the korean version of hana yori dango/华样少男少女. I still think the original japanese version is the best. The others just seem weird.
The side-effects of watching that taiwanese drama:
CANT WAIT TO GET BACK TO TAIWAN PRETTY PLEASE!
Dreaming about becoming a singing and dancing celebrity
Dreaming all about taiwan.
After all Im half taiwanese so I pretty much dream up lots of possibilities. REALLY, really hope we can go back during the end of year holidays. And singapore as well. But right now, tickets are booked but still seems really unsure. Mostly because dad doesn't have leave from work and Justin should be prepping for his yr 12 etc but when I was his age I got to go overseas for about a month then too. Things have changed though...and Justin is definitely not me. Nevertheless, I don't think he can study all around the clock during his 2 month holiday anyway. Brother and sister alike, we're just not that compulsive type. We're big procrastinators. Talk about instant gratification.
Dad:
He's been talking about studying and things like that. Both my parents don't have a university qualification. He talked about studying at university...but I don't think a tertiary education and assignments and exams really suits him. He doesn't think so either. I think he'll be looking more at a baking/patisserie/commercial cooking type course at TAFE. Just out of interest you know...not really worth study at least 3 more years to get a university degree and do a related job (might not even get it). And I also do not want to end up writing assignments for him and teaching him how to memorise content etc. (I told him to steer clear away from sciences...haha) But Im talking realistically. I'd really like to see him cook and bake - the activities he's yet to extend to full potential. I'd be ecstatic if he opened a dessert shop/restaurant in taiwan in the near future...my parents are planning that Taiwan is the next lovely country they're residing in after Justin gets to uni/both of us graduate from uni. He seriously has lots of potential.
Mum:
She's been thinking about studying too. But her perception of it is just too......easy. Right now she's been reading the Australian Citizenship resource book. I've gotta get my citizenship to get fee help from the government with my really expensive school fees sometime....before i reach yr 4 and 5 (which is the really expensive part).
This is all I have to say for now.

I've gotta get my citizenship to get fee help from the government with my really expensive school fees sometime....before i reach yr 4 and 5 (which is the really expensive part).
This is all I have to say for now.
